The More You Know:
I received this email from YCAL and thought of each of you and the career tools (authentic opportunities to prepare our students for tomorrow through age appropriate lessons) you use that should be shared with others to review and celebrate. Even present as a team! (i.e. PBL, ICT, Webinars, etc that align with the career ready standards listed below) Maybe you even own a side business that can share your business plan, how you got started, etc.
I hope you not only have value information to share for our age groups, but that you jump at the opportunity to share your knowledge with others in the York County community. More information is below:
Like so many educators, The York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL) has been working hard to address and adapt its program delivery methods, and I’m excited to announce that we will be holding our 11th Annual Career Education and Work Standards Symposium virtually this year. This virtual event will be almost entirely on-demand with pre-recorded content so attendees can complete the program at their own pace from the end of the school year through September 1, 2021.
You are receiving this message because you have attended the Symposium in the past and we are looking for lesson presenters!
We have an absolute understanding that this year in particular your time is even more scarce and valuable. Through the help of our co-presenting sponsors, Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, we have arranged for each presentation to receive a $50 Amazon gift card (Please note: we can only allocate one gift card per presentation) in appreciation for their effort.
If you are interested in presenting one of the focus grade level sessions, we have a total of 12 spots available for Awareness and Preparation, Career Acquisition, Retention and Advancement, and Entrepreneurship in each focus grade level (K-5, 6-8, and 9-12). As we have done in the past few years, we will also be offering several administrator sessions that are tailored for administrators but may be viewed by all.
If selected, Breakout Session presenters will be required to do the following:
ü Record a 15-20 minute video presentation on your assigned topic
ü Send a downloadable link of the video to info@ycal.us
o Provide links or send copies of any files utilized that you would be willing to share with your audience
ü Once the video is uploaded to the YCAL YouTube Channel (unlisted, so only attendees will have the link), you will be asked to occasionally check in on the video's comments section to answer any questions that are asked by attendees
If you, or anyone you might recommend, is interested in applying to present please…

We are hoping to have all presenters on-board by April 1st with all materials finalized to launch the Symposium on May 3rd. Thank you and I hope you might consider participating as a presenter or attendee!
