Bits & Bytes
The Common Core standards have challenged us in getting students to think at a deeper level. In this article taken from Educational Leadership, Susan Brookhart first suggests using open questions. Usually around October we start to notice a difference in some of the students' behaviors as the "newness" of a new school year begins to wear off. This means you may need to step up your game to ensure that all students can get what they need out of your class academically on a daily basis. ClassDojo may be what you are looking for. Mrs. Kurtzman and Mrs. Bortner are using this for their 2nd year and have had success with it. You can read a short article about it here.
