Mark Your New Year Calendars
CV Teachers-

As we look ahead at the coming weeks, the days will start to pass quickly and the time will soon be upon us to discuss and review mid-year progress for Differentiated Supervision and SLO's.
  • Differentiated Supervision - Choose "Mid-Year Progress" (on the left) and in the text box enter a concise statement of progress.  (It does not need to be long - just a reflection on your progress.)  If you would like to meet with me to discuss, please make an appointment for us to talk.  Once submitted, I will review and "submit" the mid-year progress (you should see a green checkmark once my part is finalized).  These are due by no later than January 22, 2021. (Please mark this in your planner.  This can also be completed any time before that if you are ready.)  I am pasting a screenshot of the pathway memo from September at the very bottom for your reference (under the next SLO bullet point).
  • SLO's - For the SLO review, you will review data collection & measurable objectives for your SLO and determine if there are any adjustments or revisions that you feel need to be made.  If you decide that something may need to be adjusted, if you would like clarification on anything, or if you have questions -  please make an appointment to come talk to me.  Ideally these meetings & revisions should take place by January 22, 2021.

Let's share some holiday cheer!

I thought it would be fun to have a staff activity to make December more jolly this year:)

In your mailbox, you will find a photocopy of Santa with a long beard.  Every time you do one of Santa's acts of kindness you trim that part of his beard away.  Once you have trimmed his entire beard you can come to my office and pick up a prize.  The beautiful thing about this activity is that it will cost you nothing to participate.  The idea is just to spread some free kindness this month.  You may start on any day of December and go in any order you would like.  The only stipulation is that you have to complete it before December 23rd to earn a prize.

Enjoy and let's spread some Christmas kindness.

HOLIDAY DECOR:
Across the district, we will not be permitting trees in our lobby, common areas, or classrooms for this holiday season.  Any tree that is a desk or shelf-size decoration would be fine, but larger trees are a no go.

Thank you for your cooperation with this.

COVID-19 Items to share...

(1) New Travel Guidance for ages 11 and under:

This change was made on Wednesday, November 25th.

(2) We have put ourselves in a very good position in mitigating the spread of COVID 19 in our school.  Here is some information that will help us continue to be proactive, rather than reactive, as we experience positive cases within our building.

What are we looking for during contact tracing?
•We need to identify individuals that are closer than six feet of a confirmed positive individual for a duration of 15 cumulative minutes of a day that the confirmed positive individual is symptomatic.

From DOH:  Close contacts of a case are considered to have been exposed to COVID-19 by being within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes while they were infectious.  Close contacts are at risk for developing disease. Identifying, testing and quarantining close contacts limits their ability to spread disease should they become infectious and helps to limit community spread.

Spacing during instruction:
In all classrooms and instructional areas, students are to be seated and situated six feet apart. If there is a situation or circumstance in your classroom where student desks or instructional seats are NOT spaced accordingly, please let me know immediately so we can work together to find a solution.

Small group instruction:
•Please make sure that students are still distanced six feet apart if you are working with a small group. The front of your classroom does not allow sufficient space to do this.
I am seeing this during walkthroughs, please ensure students are 6 FEET APART during instruction AND small groups.
•Read aloud time should be treated the same way.

If you aren’t feeling well, stay home!
•Really...stay home. And consult your doctor.

Confidentiality and privacy
•We need to respect each student and/or staff member by maintaining confidentiality while investigating possible contacts that may have been exposed to an infected individual. Please understand that information shared during an investigation is NOT to be shared with other colleagues or students. Any additional information that needs to be communicated will be done through the PA Department of Health.

One last thought:
Please continue to encourage social distancing while students are in line throughout our hallways and while in the lunch line.

Thank you for working so hard. You are appreciated every day!
