HOLIDAY DECOR:
Across the district, we will not be permitting trees in our lobby, common areas, or classrooms for this holiday season. Any tree that is a desk or shelf-size decoration would be fine, but larger trees are a no go.
Thank you for your cooperation with this.
COVID-19 Items to share...
(1) New Travel Guidance for ages 11 and under:
This change was made on Wednesday, November 25th.
(2) We have put ourselves in a very good position in mitigating the spread of COVID 19 in our school. Here is some information that will help us continue to be proactive, rather than reactive, as we experience positive cases within our building.
What are we looking for during contact tracing?
•We need to identify individuals that are closer than six feet of a confirmed positive individual for a duration of 15 cumulative minutes of a day that the confirmed positive individual is symptomatic.
From DOH: Close contacts of a case are considered to have been exposed to COVID-19 by being within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes while they were infectious. Close contacts are at risk for developing disease. Identifying, testing and quarantining close contacts limits their ability to spread disease should they become infectious and helps to limit community spread.
Spacing during instruction:
In all classrooms and instructional areas, students are to be seated and situated six feet apart. If there is a situation or circumstance in your classroom where student desks or instructional seats are NOT spaced accordingly, please let me know immediately so we can work together to find a solution.
Small group instruction:
•Please make sure that students are still distanced six feet apart if you are working with a small group. The front of your classroom does not allow sufficient space to do this.
I am seeing this during walkthroughs, please ensure students are 6 FEET APART during instruction AND small groups.
•Read aloud time should be treated the same way.
If you aren’t feeling well, stay home!
•Really...stay home. And consult your doctor.
Confidentiality and privacy
•We need to respect each student and/or staff member by maintaining confidentiality while investigating possible contacts that may have been exposed to an infected individual. Please understand that information shared during an investigation is NOT to be shared with other colleagues or students. Any additional information that needs to be communicated will be done through the PA Department of Health.
One last thought:
Please continue to encourage social distancing while students are in line throughout our hallways and while in the lunch line.
Thank you for working so hard. You are appreciated every day!
