The above schedule provides each teacher an opportunity to share with your monitor, in 15 minutes, what the plans for the one-hour asynchronous schedule will be for that week's rotation. Kindergarten rotation has yet to be determined.
Points to Remember!
Our support staff assistants do not have access to computer laptops. Don't ask if they can get one, the question has been asked this year and at this time a computer for any support staff except library is not available.
The times for prep cannot be changed or modified to accommodate an 8AM prep time. These ladies' schedules have now been set to provide for all students and teachers accordingly. A math assistants day is now scheduled from 9:15-3:00 pm with a one-hour lunch.
The math assistants will only be available for ROAR groups K-2. In addition, both Laird and Webb may be able to push in for math in all grade level K-6. If you have a need and it is unable to be filled by one, reach out to the other and see if there could be additional time given for your classroom.
I will be meeting with both teachers and our math assistants to discovery any difficulties experienced in the first two weeks. Please communicate the "hiccups" you may encounter respectfully between the teacher and assistant FIRST. If difficulties still happen that need intervention due to unforeseen circumstance and cannot be resolved between two heads then please make note and discuss with me to get my thoughts on the matter when needed.
Finally, each grade level will receive an email from me by 1/28 with a Google Doc link that will need to be update BEFORE your collaboration time, a bulleted list of what will be accomplished in the one-hour time frame. Remember it can be used with your partner for a portion and one your own for another portion or at times completely with your partner or completely on your own.
As always, risks are worth the taking when it means better teacher efficacy and improvement in STUDENT LEARNING! We are embarking on what may be a bumpy road, but it is in the interest of our school to give it a try and become the model of what can be.
